Accommodation

Anchored by our beautiful Grade II listed Georgian main building, Westhampnett House has been sympathetically restored to a level of grandeur that echoes its past. Rich in period features such as chandeliers, high ceilings, bay windows, swags & tails, wooden beams, flagstone floors, antique furniture, and large reception rooms, the grande lady has been pampered with all the modern trimmings and fittings and looks resplendent in plush carpets, antique and bespoke furniture, and designer themes.

Our rooms have been redecorated according to five themes and are fitted with the latest profiling beds, bespoke furniture, flatscreen TV's, in most cases full wet-rooms, beautiful chairs, bedding and curtains, and a computerised call system.

Our rooms range from a few single high dependency rooms situated around the nurses' station to luxurious suites finished to a standard that rivals luxury hotel accommodation. Almost all of our rooms have views over our beautiful gardens, and some boast French doors that open onto the garden. In addition, our East facing upper rooms overlook our listed Dovecote and duck pond. Other upper rooms look south over the gardens towards the apple orchard and the beautiful neighbouring St Peters parish church.

In some cases we have been happy to assist residents add to the decor of their Suites with their own pieces of antique furniture and art. Our maintenance manager was also happy to change the feature wall colour in one of our residents suites to one that our resident was happier with. Our residents see Westhampnett House as their home, so we try as hard as we can to make it feel like their home.

We believe that a sumptuous pampered environment is a great elixir, and together with the outstanding levels of care that Westhampnett House has become known for, is the right combination to nurse our residents back to good health.

Food

Scrumptious meals are the daily faire. Our Head Chef and her assistants pride themselves in their cuisine. Home cooked meals using local fresh produce and seasonal vegetables offer a balanced and nutritious diet. Our Head Chef sources all her fresh produce, dairy, meat, chicken, and fish from independent local suppliers, ensuring that she is able to prescribe the quality of what she buys. Our Menu's are carefully planned by our Head Chef and Manager periodically, and nutrition, taste, and presentation, are important elements of their selection. Known historically for its fine food, even visiting family members book ahead and join our residents for lunch from time to time. Special dietary needs identified in our Care Plans allow our Chef to tailor the meals of some residents even further, depending on preference or nursing need.

You will not find any cake mix or common yogurt at Westhampnett House. All our confectionery is baked daily, using real butter, full cream, and all those other "naughty" ingredients that our residents deserve. Healthy fresh Yogurt is made on-site, as are the delicious mousses and pudding. It is little wonder then why afternoon tea is such an eagerly anticipated event.
